During a decade spent living in Germany, Martine Robinson Beachboard was public relations manager with The University of Maryland Global Campus.

In her previous career as a journalist, she won first place in column writing in an Arizona Press Club competition. She has taken top honors from Arizona Press Women multiple times and was a finalist in a Penney-Missouri Newspaper Awards competition.

She completed the Ph.D. with Touro College in Manhattan, New York, USA. As an Associate Professor of Mass Communication at Idaho State University, she taught media and society, public relations, newswriting, and advertising.

Having attained the Cambridge English Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA), Ms. Beachboard is now a volunteer teaching English as a Second Language to adults and tutoring children in reading.

Hiking and traveling are her favorite diversions. She has lived or visited in forty countries. Most recently, Ms. Beachboard served as a Fulbright Specialist with Kosovo Women’s Network in Pristina. She has edited KWN’s extensive reports on gender equality in digitalization and on the informal economy in Kosovo, research efforts whose aim is to support Kosovo’s European Union accession process.

Academically she has published in the areas of cohorts, student engagement, and critical thinking. Her current writing balances the appeal of an unusual circumstance with the resonance of universal human experience.
